How much monthly money do you need to live in Dubai?

If you're considering moving to Dubai, one of your main concerns is probably the cost of living and whether it's compatible with your income.

Unlike in Spain, in Dubai you won't have to pay high taxes, which is a significant advantage, especially if you are self-employed, since in some cases in Spain you can allocate up to 50% of your income to taxes. In the case of employees, the salaries paid by employers come entirely to the worker, without tax deductions, which translates into a higher net wage.

This means that, both for the self-employed and for the employed, you will have more money available to you.

How much money is recommended to have?

From our point of view, we recommend a minimum income of between 3,000 and 4,000 euros per month. This figure will allow you to lead a comfortable life, enjoy some whims and take advantage of opportunities without financial worries.

Fun fact: the price of oil is significantly lower than in Spain.

Living costs in Dubai

Food

The price of food in Dubai does not vary significantly. While some products cost similar to those in Spain, there are also certain items that are slightly more expensive.

Leisure

The cost of leisure in Dubai depends a lot on your budget. Restaurant prices vary, and while you can find some with rates similar to those in Spain, most are higher.

Bars and nightclubs tend to have slightly higher prices compared to Spain.

Housing

As for housing, it is necessary to differentiate between rent and purchase:

Rent: Rental prices depend on the area and type of housing. More standard apartments tend to be more expensive than in Spain, but as in any city, the cost varies depending on the location.

Purchase: Property prices are not significantly different from those in Spain, but that also depends on the area. However, high demand can lead to waiting times to buy a home.

One positive aspect is that mortgages in Dubai don't include additional fees or interest, so you pay the real value of the home.

The cost of living in Dubai is higher than in Spain, but it's not much different from cities like Madrid or Barcelona.
